A year ago, I was the one watching.

  • Remote work scene of Colin Indermaur, Creative Director at HeitlandMediaGroup Innovation and founder-driven storyteller, working from a tropical coworking space in Bali. The photo shows a wooden desk with a laptop covered in travel stickers, a water bottle labeled 'Good Vibes Only,' and lush greenery in the background. Overlaid on the image is the phrase 'What becoming looks like,' representing Colin’s personal and professional evolution—from dreaming of remote creative freedom to living it. This image is part of a LinkedIn and Instagram post about digital nomadism, personal branding, and creative leadership. It highlights Colin's work as a visual storyteller who helps CEOs and founders express their unique voice and build meaningful personal brands—while staying rooted in authenticity and creative passion.

A year ago, I was the one watching. Sitting in hostels, cafés, and airports - meeting people who worked from anywhere, built their own rules, and lived freely.

I looked at them and thought: One day. One day I’ll do that too. One day I’ll create, direct, and travel - on my own terms. That one day is today. This photo might just look like a coworking space in Bali. But to me, it’s something else entirely. It’s the result of dozens of invisible decisions - to keep moving, keep learning, keep building. To believe that I could turn curiosity into a career. Now I lead projects as a Creative Director at Heitland Media Group - from wherever the work and the world take me. Now I help people build their brands. Now I’m the one behind the camera - and behind the vision. If my younger self could see me now, I think he’d be quietly proud. Not because it’s perfect. But because it’s real. This isn’t just remote work. It’s a life that was once only an idea. And I built it - one step at a time.
