This is my problem with creating.

  • Colin Indermaur, creative director and filmmaker, working on a project at a medical clinic in Budapest. He reflects on the challenge of creative work: no matter how carefully a video or story is crafted, people always perceive it differently, shaped by their own emotions and experiences. This photo captures Colin in action, behind the camera, working on a professional shoot while traveling for work. It illustrates his lifestyle as a self-employed creative who balances freedom, travel, and high-quality projects around the world. Colin uses his work to build personal brands and tell stories that connect deeply with audiences, even if the perception is never exactly what he imagined. This behind-the-scenes moment represents the essence of his journey — exploring creativity, self-employment, and personal growth while inspiring others through visual storytelling and personal branding.

Every video I make starts with a clear vision in my head. The mood, the emotion, the way I want people to feel.

But here’s the truth: once it leaves my hands, it doesn’t belong to me anymore. People see it differently. They project their own story onto it. And no matter how carefully I craft it, it will never be exactly the way I intended. That used to frustrate me for a moment... But over time, I realized: that’s actually the beauty of creative work. It’s not about forcing one message. It’s about creating something real enough that it speaks differently to everyone who watches. That’s where connection happens.
