24 The Planet Munich
Description
24 The Planet is a global initiative that combines endurance, community, and purpose into one powerful event: walking nonstop for 24 hours to raise awareness and funds to fight climate change. In Munich, participants gathered in a central park to take on the challenge, supported by friends, family, and volunteers who kept the energy alive through entertainment, food, and music.
The mission of 24 The Planet is simple but urgent — to regreen dry and degraded land in Africa, cooling the planet and creating sustainable ecosystems that benefit both nature and people. Every step taken in Munich contributed to this cause, joining efforts with parallel walks in Amsterdam, New York, London, Budapest, Prague, and Nairobi. The event combined physical challenge with social connection, turning walking into a catalyst for conversation, bonding, and collective action.
As part of this edition, I was responsible for capturing the event through video and photography, documenting the atmosphere, the people, and the story behind the mission. My goal was to translate the energy of the walkers and the spirit of the initiative into visuals that not only showcase the event but also help spread its message further. Working on this project aligned with my own passion for storytelling, creativity, and supporting causes that matter on a global scale.
The Munich walk was more than a fundraiser — it was a reminder of what can happen when people come together around a shared mission. From sunrise to sunrise, participants proved that small steps can lead to meaningful change, and that creativity, endurance, and collaboration can all play a role in tackling the climate crisis.
